Once you submit your project for distribution (you can check this article to see if you have completed the submission process), there are still a few more steps on our end before your music is available at our partners' sites. Read on to learn what to expect after you hit the "Submit for Distribution" button in your account.
What happens after I submit my release?
Processing your release
- We'll process your audio and artwork and make the various audio formats required by our partners.
Inspecting your release
- After processing, your release is sent to our inspection team to make sure it will be accepted by our partners, per their requirements.
-
Inspection takes 1-2 business days with Fast Forward, or 7-14 business days for inspection without.
- Please note: any time you make changes to your release, it takes it out of the inspection queue and puts it at the back of the line.
-
If you pass inspection, your title will be delivered to our digital partners. You'll receive an email confirming that your submission has been approved and finalized for distribution.
-
If we need to make some adjustments before approval, you'll be sent an email requesting your final approval to send your release to our partner sites. In that email, you'll be directed to a final summary of the info for your submission. There, you can confirm that all the details are correct and submit your final approval on the release.
-
If you don't pass inspection, you'll get an email from our inspection team detailing the issues that need to be resolved before you resubmit.
Delivering your release to our partners
- Once we've begun delivering your release, it'll usually be ingested within 1-2 weeks, but some sites can take up to 8 weeks.
- If you're not seeing your release on a particular platform after this timeline, see here: Why is my release not on Spotify (or another partner)?
- If you selected a future release date, your release won't be live on our partners until that date — even if it's delivered and ingested before then.
