Quick summary
- For singles, add roles on the Basic Single Information page; for albums, add the Primary artist on Basic Album Information and all other roles on the Track Information page
- Available roles: Primary, Featuring, Producer, Remixer, Production and Engineering, and Other Contributors (including performer credits like Vocals, Guitar, etc.)
- Songwriter and Composer credits are entered separately, in the Songwriter Information section
- Roles can’t be added retroactively once your release has been distributed — enter them before you submit
Adding artist credits to a single
- From your CD Baby Dashboard, click Albums & Singles.
- Click View/Edit to open the Title Overview page for the single.
- Click the release title, above the artwork box.
- On the Basic Single Information page, assign roles: Primary, Featuring, Producer, Remixer, Production and Engineering, or Other Contributors.
- Production and Engineering or Other Contributors opens additional options for specific roles, including performer credits like Vocals or Guitar.
- After saving, your updated roles appear on the Title Overview page under Tracks & Audio.
Adding artist credits to an album
- From your CD Baby Dashboard, click Albums & Singles.
- Click View/Edit to open the Title Overview page for the album.
- Click the release title, above the artwork box.
- On the Basic Album Information page, enter the Primary artist(s) in the Artist Name field.
- To add additional roles for individual tracks, go to the Track Information page and click the add-role icon to assign new roles:
- Updated roles for each track appear on the Title Overview page under Tracks & Audio:
Adding songwriter credits
Composer and Lyricist credits aren’t added with the roles above — they’re entered separately, in the Songwriter Information section of the release setup flow, since these credits reflect songwriting contributions rather than performance or production.

Things to note
- Roles can’t be added retroactively to releases that have already been distributed, so double-check credits before submitting.
- Accurate role assignment ensures proper credit and reporting across all streaming platforms.
