CD Baby allows you to customize where your music is distributed by setting territory restrictions. You can choose which countries to include or exclude during the initial submission process, and you can also update these settings after your release has been delivered. This article explains how to make changes and what to keep in mind when managing territory restrictions.
How to update territories after distribution
- Log in to your account at cdbaby.com
- Click “Albums & Singles” at the top of your dashboard.
- Click “View/Edit” next to the release you want to update
- Go to the Distribution section
- Scroll down to “Territory Restrictions” and click “View/Edit Territory Restrictions”
- Check the box that says "Specific territories/countries"
- Choose which countries to include or exclude
- Click “Save and Continue"
After saving, your release will be queued for redelivery, which may take up to a week to reach partner platforms.
Things to note
- Territory restrictions can only be updated once per week.
- Releases with territory restrictions are not eligible for YouTube Content ID. If you’re currently opted into Content ID and want to add restrictions, you must opt-out of Content ID first, then apply your territory changes.
