Adding or editing songwriter information ensures proper credit and royalty distribution for your music. This guide explains how to manage songwriter details during the release process.
How to add or edit songwriters during release setup
- During the release setup, you'll be prompted to enter songwriter information for each track. This is done using the Songwriter Bank.
- If the songwriter is not in the Songwriter Bank, click +ADD NEW SONGWRITER.
- If the songwriter is already in the Songwriter Bank, click +ADD TO THIS TRACK.
Adding songwriter details
- For new songwriters, provide their full legal name (not a stage name or band name), country of residence, and PRO affiliation if applicable.
- Specify whether the songwriter contributed to the music, lyrics, or both, and enter the percentage of ownership. Ensure the total adds up to 100%.
- If there's only one songwriter on a track, tick both Music and Lyrics, and enter 100%.
- If the songwriter has a publisher, enter the publisher's name.
- If not, select No.
- Once all songwriter information is entered, green checkmarks will appear next to each track in the Track Menu, indicating completion.
Things to note

- Accurate publisher information is crucial for proper royalty distribution.
