Only one primary artist's name should be listed per "Artist Name" field in your release submission. We can't deliver multiple artists' names entered in the same text field, as this can impair how your release appears on platforms and in search results. If you need to add additional artists or producer/remixer credits, you have a few options.
Adding additional artists as Primary Artists
- An additional primary artist would be any other artist who is a main contributor to the track or album, but who is known independently of the first primary artist.
- To add an additional primary artist, use the "additional artist" icon to add more artist name fields.
- You can find the "additional artist" icon next to the artist name field.

- Please note: This does not apply to an artist name such as "Jessie & Joy" or Simon & Garfunkel, which can be entered in its entirety in the same artist field. This is called a Compound Artist
Adding additional artists as Featuring Artists
- A featured artist is one who also appears on a track, but is not considered a main contributor.
- Featured artists can be added at the track level by clicking on the "additional artist" icon in the track information.
- From the drop-down role menu, select "Featuring" next to your featured artist name.
- If there is more than one featured artist on a track, you can keep adding new artist fields using that same icon.
- When your release is delivered to our partners, the featured artist/artists will be displayed next to the track title. For example:
- Track: Despacito (Remix)
- Primary Artists: Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee
- Featuring Artist: Justin Bieber
- How the title will look: "Despacito (feat. Justin Bieber)"
Adding additional artists as a Producer or Remixer
- Use the "additional artist" icon and select the role from the drop-down menu on the left.
What's a Compound Artist?
- A compound artist name combines multiple names together into a single name using "&" or "and."
- This type of group name doesn't have to be separated into its own artist field. For example, "Simon & Garfunkel" or "Jessie & Joy"
- If you have a compound artist name, you must be able to supply some links to websites that show you are known by this name.
- If you fail inspection due to multiple artist names in one field, reply with at least two links from the list below to show your established web presence under this compound name, and your name will be approved:
- Wikipedia page
- Artist/musician Facebook page
- YouTube Video with more than 100 views
- An Active Artist profile of the compound name on iTunes.
- Pre-existing Spotify artist pages that also match iTunes (these must be consistent)
- An official artist website
- An All Music Guide artist listing
- A music site reviewing the artist with the compound artist name
- Vimeo
- VK
