Credit the people and groups performing on the recording as primary artists. Classical releases can have several primary artists, including soloists, ensembles, conductors, orchestras, and choirs.
Credit performers
List each performer or performing group who has a meaningful performance role. Use the same artist name consistently across the release.
Required roles:
- Symphonies and orchestras
- Choirs
- Conductors
- Ensembles (e.g., string quartets)
- Soloists
Do not use a featured-artist credit for performers who are part of the primary classical performance. Add composers as artists only when they also perform on the recording.
Credit other contributors
Put composers in the songwriter/composer credits. Put arrangers and editors in the track-title details, rather than treating them as performing artists unless they perform.
