A watchlist review helps confirm that a release involving a well-known artist is authorized. CD Baby may request additional documentation before approving or distributing the release to confirm the submission is authorized.
What may be requested
You may be asked to provide a signed agreement or other documentation showing the artist’s involvement and authorization. The agreement should identify the parties, their legal names, addresses, compensation or work-for-hire terms, and the relevant recording or release. Missing or incomplete information may cause further delays.
Allow time for review
A watchlist review can delay approval or delivery. To resolve it, respond to the email from CD Baby with your agreement attached.
Once approved, your release can proceed to delivery — but until approval, it will remain pending. CD Baby may be unable to distribute the release if authorization cannot be confirmed.
