If your album contains tracks that blend seamlessly into one another, such as a DJ mix or continuous musical composition, you can distribute it through CD Baby. However, digital platforms may not play individual tracks without pauses between them.
To preserve the uninterrupted listening experience, you can include the full continuous mix as an additional track on your release.
How are continuous mixes delivered to streaming platforms?
CD Baby delivers each track on your release as a separate audio file, based on the track order and files you submit. Even if your tracks were originally mastered to transition seamlessly into one another, streaming platforms may introduce brief pauses between tracks during playback.
CD Baby cannot guarantee gapless playback between individual tracks on streaming platforms.
How to submit an album with a continuous mix
If you want listeners to have access to both individual songs and the uninterrupted mix, follow these steps:
- Upload each song as a separate track in your release.
- Arrange the tracks in the correct playback order.
- Add the complete, uninterrupted mix as the final track on your release.
- Clearly identify the final track as a continuous mix in its title.
For example, your tracklist might look like this:
- Track 1: Song A
- Track 2: Song B
- Track 3: Song C
- Track 4: Full Set (Continuous DJ Mix)
This allows listeners to play individual songs or select the full mix to hear the entire set without interruptions between songs.
