CD Baby cannot make changes to releases that were submitted more than three years ago. These are considered legacy releases.
Why are updates restricted?
Music platforms regularly update their metadata and delivery requirements. Older releases may not contain all the information required by today's standards.
As a result, we may be unable to deliver updated information to platforms where your music is already available or distribute the release to new platforms and services.
How can I update an older release?
If you want to make changes to a legacy release or opt into additional services, you'll need to submit it as a new release. To do this:
- Cancel your original release.
- Create a new release in your CD Baby account.
- Enter your updated release information and upload your audio and artwork.
- Submit the new release for review and distribution.
Submitting a new release ensures that your music meets current delivery requirements and allows you to select the services available for new submissions.
Important: Releasing your music again requires a new submission and payment. Your new release will also go through CD Baby's standard review and delivery process.
