If you're hoping to submit an upcoming release for playlist consideration on Spotify, we're here to help. Before you can submit your song for playlist consideration, it first needs to be submitted for distribution in your account, and delivered to Spotify. You also need to have claimed your artist page on Spotify, which you can learn how to do here.
How to submit your song for playlist consideration
- Once your single has been delivered to Spotify (and you've claimed your Spotify For Artist page), you'll need to wait 2-3 days before you'll see that your single has landed in the "unreleased" section.
- Once it has, follow these directions:
- Log in to Spotify for Artists on desktop, and find any unreleased music at the top of the "Home" or "Profile" tabs.
- Select "GET STARTED" next to the release you want to submit.
- Or, go to "Profile," right-click any unreleased music, and select "Submit a Song."
- Choose a song from the release to submit.
- Include as much info about the song as possible — the more info you provide, the better chance it has to be selected.
Things to note
- You'll need to submit your single for distribution in ample time before your release date, as your single must be submitted for playlist consideration at least 7 days prior to the release date.
- To make sure you have enough time for inspection, distribution, and playlist consideration, submit your single at least 2-3 weeks in advance.
- You can read more about this on our DIY Musician's Blog here, or in Spotify's Support Center here.
