Whether or not you can update or correct information on your release depends on whether it’s still being reviewed by CD Baby, or if it's already been delivered to streaming and download platforms. For example, if your release is still in inspection, you might fix an audio file or artwork issue. After delivery, only limited updates are possible.
What changes are possible before distribution
- If your release is still in inspection (not yet delivered to our partners), you can edit most information, including:
- Audio files
- Artwork
- Song titles and release title
- Artist name
- Songwriter or composer credits
- Genre or language metadata
- When you make edits, your release will move to the end of the inspection queue, which may delay your release date.
How to make changes before distribution
- Log in to your CD Baby account.
- From your Dashboard click Albums & Singles.
- Click VIEW/EDIT next to the project.
- If your release is still in inspection, select “I need to make changes.”
- Make your updates and re-submit your release for distribution.
- Please note: Resubmitting restarts the inspection process, so your release will no longer hold its original spot in the queue.
- For more details, see How do I make changes to my project before it’s delivered to partners?
Things to note
- Once a release is live, most metadata (like artist name, track titles, or ISRCs) cannot be changed.
- Major edits — such as replacing audio, reordering tracks, or changing the release title — usually require a new release.
- Always double-check your audio, artwork, and metadata before submitting to avoid delays.
