If you have distributed a track as a single submission, and now wish to release it as part of an album, you will need to enter the track information again where the track appears in the full album submission.
If the audio is the same for both the single and the album version of the track, please use the same ISRC.
When you add a previously released single to an album and use the same ISRC, you are indicating that this is the exact same track. So, in addition to the audio, all of the metadata should be exactly the same: the title, artist name, featuring artists, etc.
Following these steps will ensure that the track's play count is consistent between the single and album version of the track.
When you are submitting the full album, please choose "I have my own ISRCs" on the ISRC page of the submission. For the previously released singles you want on your album, please enter the same ISRC. (If you need help locating your previous ISRCs, click here.) If you need CD Baby to assign ISRCs for any previously unreleased tracks, please check the box to the right of the track so we can supply those individually.
Please note - the single and album do need different UPC barcodes. If you plan to have physical CDs of the full album, make sure to use the same UPC for the physical CD and the digital album release.
