This form should only be used if you must request changes to CD Baby Pro Publishing releases that have been finalized for distribution. The only exceptions to this rule are the “Downgrade from Pro to Standard” and “Submit Letter of Direction” options mentioned below.
1) Ownership Changes/Songwriter Splits
It is essential to have the correct songsplits entered with your PRO and other collection agencies. We understand that you may need to adjust songsplits after the distribution process has taken place. Remember, it’s always good to have a split sheet signed by you and your co-writers!
Check out this DIY Musicians Blog article for more information on split sheets.
This would be the correct option to use to add or remove a songwriter as well since we would be updating the song splits in this case.
2) Downgrade from Pro to Standard
Did you sign a submission up for Pro, but change your mind? We can downgrade your release to Standard for you.
You can request a downgrade using this option regardless of whether your submission has been finalized for distribution or not.
If you paid for your Pro submission, you will also receive a refund for the difference in submission fees between Pro and Standard.
3) Cancel my CD Baby Pro Administration Service
Your publishing administration can only be cancelled after your one-year term is up. Please review this Help Center article for instructions on submitting a request to cancel Pro.
For more information, please refer to the terms of service Publishing Addendum which is included at the bottom of the CD Baby Member Agreement.
4) Submit Letter of Direction
This option will not result in us making any changes, but if you are having trouble submitting your Letter of Direction we can help!
Make sure you read this Help Center article first before submitting this kind of request.
5) Duplicate Songwriter Error
Did you receive a duplicate songwriter error message when attempting to complete the Pro Publishing Administration section of your account? If so please read this Help Center article.
The article linked above will provide details on this specific type of error, and guide you on how to appropriately submit this type of request.
6) Songwriter name change
Did you misspell your songwriter name? Did your last name change? Use this option to request a change to a songwriter name. Keep in mind, changing a songwriter name will update that name across all Pro releases that the songwriter appears on.
7) Make songwriter collecting or non-collecting
Use this option if you need to change yourself, or a co-writer from collecting to non-collecting, or the other way around.
A "collecting songwriter" is defined as a songwriter that we will collect publishing royalties for in relation to a CD Baby Pro release. These songwriters are appear with a "$" next to their name in the 'Songwriter Bank' in your account.
The reason we make the distinction between a collecting and non-collecting writer is that some writers want us to collect publishing royalties on their behalf and others don’t.
In addition to that, a writer could be a collecting writer for one set of songs (album) and not for another set of songs (a different album).
Be advised, if you are asking to make a songwriter collecting for the first time, you will be charged a one time fee of $10 for us to begin collecting royalties for that songwriter.
8) Add/Fix Self-Owned Publishing Affiliation
Do you have a self-owned publishing affiliation with your PRO? If so, you can use this option to add your publishing affiliation to your account. If you've already added your publisher but misspelled it or changed the name, you can also use this option to request an update to your publisher name.
If you have a self-owned publishing affiliation with your PRO, we will need that information on file in order to administer your publishing and collect royalties on your behalf.
By adding your publishing affiliation information, we will administer the publishing on behalf of your publishing entity, as opposed to administering on behalf of you as an individual.
This does not impact how royalties are collected or paid out through CD Baby Pro Publishing.
But I haven't delivered my project to the digital partners
If your submission has not been finalized for distribution, you can simply click the green "Need to make changes" button on the right of your Title Overview instead of us. That will unlock it and allow you to make any necessary changes instead of using this form.
