What does it mean to have an artist on the Watchlist?

If a project includes famous artists, we need to make sure you own or have cleared any necessary rights to distribute through CD Baby. You will need to provide us with a copy of the signed artist agreement to prove that your project is indeed a collaboration between you and the specified artist. 

There will be a delay in this content going live on the partner sites because we must submit proof of rights prior to distribution. 

Your documentation should include most, if not all, of the following. Any missing information may result in further delay:

• Identifying information of all parties, especially physical addresses and legal names of all parties.
• Specific information regarding compensation, especially information regarding work-for-hire.
• Specific information regarding the specific content being used and in what fashion (name of song, release timeline, etc.).

Please respond to the email we sent with the artist agreement attached. It will be reviewed by our digital inspectors.
