A "collecting writer" is defined as a songwriter that we will collect publishing royalties for in relation to a CD Baby Pro release.
The reason we make the distinction between a collecting and non-collecting writer is that some writers want us to collect publishing royalties on their behalf and others don’t.
In addition to that, a writer could be a collecting writer for one set of songs (album) and not for another set of songs (a different album).
If signing up a CD Baby Pro submission, you’ll need to list at least one writer as collecting when filling out the Track Information Menu.
