Releases getting mixed up on the wrong artist page is a common occurrence with bands/artists that have the same or similar names. This isn't the result of incorrectly delivering your music to our partners, but we can help correct the issue at most of the music sites by requesting an artist separation. Additionally, if your release was placed on a new artist page instead of an existing one, or the casing or accent marks did not get placed properly, we can work with the sites to get your release moved to its own page or correct page using the artist separation process.

How to file an Artist Separation with Spotify
Most artist profile issues can be reported through your Spotify for Artists account. Please report it here.
Another artist's music on Apple Music artist page
You can do this by reaching out to Apple through your artist profile. Please take a look at Apple Music for Artist's FAQ under "My music is missing from my Apple Music artist page, or there is music from another artist that doesn’t belong there. How can I fix this?"
You will need the following handy:
- Are you approved for Apple Music for Artists? (Yes/No):
- Artist name:
- Links to all albums by the artist:
- Link to the correct artist page:
How to report an artist profile issue with Amazon Music
You should request a correction directly within the Amazon Music for Artists web or mobile app.
If you have already claimed your artist profile, you can report an issue with the following steps in your Amazon Music for Artists account:
- Click on the incorrect album/song
- Click on the three-dot menu next to the title
- Select "Report Issue"
- Once the form is complete, click "Submit"
If you have not yet claimed your artist profile, or you are having trouble doing so because of a profile correction, you can still use the Amazon Music for Artists app to report an issue. Start by creating an account, navigating to ‘User Settings’, and then clicking on ‘Report Issue’ under the Help section. From here, provide the required information within the form and click “Submit”.
Please allow up to 4 weeks for the changes to reflect on Amazon Music.
How to file an Artist Separation with other partners
(NOTE: For separations regarding YOUTUBE and DEEZER please see additional instructions further down in this article)
You may be asked to provide the following in order to request an artist separation:
- Name(s) of mixed-up song(s)
- UPC Bar Code(s) of your affected releases. (You can find those within your CD Baby account. If you need help, go here.)
- Your artist page(s) URL(s)
- Incorrect artist page(s) URL(s)
- Correct artist page(s) URL(s)
- If there is more than one partner at which the problem appears, please select "Other" from the dropdown menu, and list the partners in the description. You do NOT need to submit multiple requests per partner.
Once you are ready to request the update, use the Submit a Request page & choose "My music is mixed up with another artist" from the drop-down. The ticket will be sent directly to our digital operations team, and they'll send you a reply once your request has been processed.
How to find the Artist Page URL on a partner site
On an application like iTunes, you can obtain these URLs by right-clicking the artist name and then left-clicking "Copy URL." For our other partners, you can search their site then copy the link that appears at the top of the screen once you have located your listing.
Due to current demand, receiving a response or resolution to this type of inquiry can take up to 6 months or more.
Additional Instructions for Artist Separations on YouTube
Artist Separations on YouTube require more specific information so be sure to include this information where applicable.
- UPC Bar Code(s) of mixed-up release(s)
- Current YouTube URL of the incorrect topic page
- Correct artist page(s) URL(s). (If there isn’t one then just say “Please move to a new page” or "Please move to a new topic page”.)
Regarding Topic Pages and YouTube:
If you DO NOT have an artist page listed on either Wikipedia or MusicBrainz, your content will be moved to a page of its own, and that page will be listed under “Various Artists - Topic”. On YouTube Music this will display as a Various Artists profile.
Please note that that art tracks may initially be mapped to a Various Artists topic channel temporarily. The track will automatically be moved to the relevant artist topic channel within 30 days upon release.
If your releases are currently located on a Various Artists Topic, you can do one of two things.
- You can either submit an artist separation request for YouTube requesting a new Topic, and all your releases will be mapped to that new, dedicated Topic in your artist name.
- Or, if you are submitting a new release, then you can select "Create new artist profile" for your YouTube Music artist ID on it. Your new release will then be delivered to a dedicated Topic created for you, and previous releases should also be mapped to it automatically by YouTube.
If you plan to claim your Official Artist Channel on YouTube, you must resolve any artist separation issues on your Topic channel(s) before upgrading to an Official Artist Channel.
This includes: removing content that is not yours, combining multiple Topics, moving your content from an incorrect Topic (belonging to another artist or Various Artists) to your Topic, establishing a new Topic if you do not have one, or correcting how your artist name displays on your Topic.
If you do not resolve these issues before attempting to upgrade, it will likely be unsuccessful.
