Contains at least one original composition.
If a release contains at least one original composition that you own, then it is eligible for CD Baby Pro Publishing. If a song contains a sample, the sample must be cleared with the copyright owner(s) and the songwriter/publisher information entered into your CD Baby account must reflect what was agreed upon between you and the copyright owner(s).
If your release only contains cover songs, remixes, public domain works (including original arrangements of public domain works), and/or other content that is not 100% original that you own, then your release is ineligible for CD Baby Pro Publishing.
Works that are not 100% originally yours must only credit non-collecting songwriters.
All collecting songwriters are affiliated with a Performance Rights Organization (PRO) in one of the countries where CD Baby Pro Publishing is available.
Please read this Help Center article for a list of countries where CD Baby Pro Publishing is available. The article also contains important information regarding which PROs you can join to use our publishing administration service, and how to join them.
All collecting songwriters credited on a work own and control 100% of their publishing.
Any individual credited as a collecting songwriter must own and control 100% of their publishing for works they are credited on. If any individual songwriter already has publishing representation for a work included on a release, they must be credited as a non-collecting songwriter.
If a songwriter has a self-owned publishing entity with their PRO, the songwriter can be credited as a collecting songwriter. If a CD Baby account holder, or co-writer from the same CD Baby account, have a self-owned publishing entity, that entity may be listed as the publisher for a collecting songwriter as long as the songwriter's share of the publishing is owned by said publisher. We will administer the songwriter's share of the publishing on behalf of their publishing entity, as opposed to the songwriter as an individual.
