Cancelling from the Mechanical Licensing MLC

If you have opted in to the MLC and now wish to cancel, you can do so through the CDB Boost opt-in page of your release in your CD Baby account:

• Login to your CD Baby account, and find your release in the Albums & Singles page. Click "view/edit" next to the title you want to opt-out of CDB Boost.
• On the Title Overview page, scroll to the heading "CDB Boost" and click to expand.
• Click "Edit Boost Opt-Ins."
• Find the MLC option on the opt-ins page and toggle to opt out.

Please note:

When you cancel collection from the MLC via your CDB account, that decision is permanent.

The cancellation will take effect at the end of current quarter. For example, if you cancel in May it will take effect at the end of June. If you cancel in October it will take effect at the end of December. We’ll email you a confirmation with the date the cancellation takes effect.

Please wait at least 30 days from the date in the email to sign up for MLC collection directly and then use the Claiming Tool via the Member Portal or you can claim via another company to avoid delays. If you wish to continue to use The MLC, here is a helpful article on how to use their claiming tool.

You may continue to see royalties from the MLC posted to your CDB account after the cancellation takes effect.
