The publishing agreement is a one-year binding contract and renews quarterly after that. If your one year term is over you can request to cancel.
If you want to cancel your CD Baby Pro service and no longer want us to act as your publishing administrator, please Submit a Request with the following:
In the subject, please add "CDB PRO CANCELLATION".
In the description add the following information:
- Username
- Physical Mailing Address
- Artist Name
- Submission Title
- A statement letting us know why you feel the need to cancel. (Maybe there are questions we can answer and we would hate to see you cancel without arrangements for someone else to collect on your behalf.)
Once we receive that information we will submit a request to your PRO that will relinquish administration of your publishing royalties.
It can take your PRO until the end of the quarter to process our relinquishment, after which they will remove our name from the songs you submitted for Pro. This will allow the songs to be claimed by another publisher. Please note, your PRO may leave CD Baby listed as your publishing administrator until another publisher claims these works. If that is the case, any publishing royalties payable to these works will still be paid to us, and remitted to you through your CD Baby account as they have been.
Also keep in mind that terminating our publishing agreement triggers our one year post-term collection period. This way, any publishing royalties that are in the pipeline (royalties that have already been generated and collected) will still be paid out to you through your CD Baby account, as opposed to going uncollected.
For this reason, the titles will still be listed as a Pro inside your members account.
